Shri Dhanendra Kumar - Honorary Principal Advisor
Dhanendra Kumar is a distinguished career civil servant and an acknowledged expert on competition and regulatory matters. He was the first Chairperson of Competition Commission of India (CCI) between 2009 and 2011. He also chaired the Committee to frame National Competition Policy, and suggest amendments in the Act in 2011 (currently before the Parliament). He was also appointed to chair the Committee to suggest reforms in Housing and Real Estate Sector. Prior to assuming the office of Chairperson, CCI, he was Executive Director at the World Bank. He joined IAS in 1968 (Haryana Cadre) and during his career, spanning over four decades, he has held senior positions in the Governments at the Central and State levels. As an expert in competition and regulatory reforms, he is currently assisting Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (of Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India) as their Principal Advisor and Chief Mentor in establishing their School of Competition at Manesar (Gurgaon, near Delhi), which is meant to be the National Centre of Excellence in Competition and Regulatory Affairs. Mr Kumar is also the founder-Chairman of Competition Advisory Services( India) LLP, a recently set-up specialized advisory firm, to render specific advice on Competition related matters.

Dr. Navneet Sharma - Head
Leads research and capacity building initiatives at the School. He leads a team of lawyers and economists to deliver ‘need-based’ capacity building solutions to clients and policy support to the Government. He engages with corporates regularly to set up customised training courses and also takes up sessions at in-company training programmes. He is also a visiting professor to many law/ management/ economics teaching institutions. Prior to IICA, Dr Sharma is credited to have successfully spearheaded first of the kind long-term courses in the area of competition law and market regulation in India. He has also served on various committees of Government of India. In the past, he has worked with law/ economics consulting firms, think-tanks, as well as universities. He has authored reports and research papers and advised a number of Indian and foreign organizations on matters relating to: competition law and policy, market regulation, non-tariff barriers, free trade agreements, small and medium enterprises, competitiveness etc. He has also co-edited a book on Global Competitive Advantage: Concepts, Approaches and Perspectives, Volumes: 1&2.
